Greenville appeared to be in cruise control early, dominating the first half to build a commanding 37-22 lead at the break. The Green Wave offense was clicking, putting up 20 points in the first quarter and adding 17 in the second, while their defense held the Trojans to just 22 total points in the opening 16 minutes.
However, the game turned on its head in the third quarter. Troy emerged from the locker room a different team, exploding for 26 points in the frame while stifling the Greenville attack to just 12 points. The massive surge nearly erased the Green Wave's 15-point halftime cushion, leaving Greenville clinging to a slim 49-48 advantage heading into the final period.
